XEL Medical Spa is now proudly offering weight management.
Under careful medical supervision patients use a once a week injectable medication that helps decrease appetite and control hunger. These medications known pharmaceutically as GLP1s are FDA approved for weight loss.
XEL prescribes both Tirzepatide and Semaglutide to patients to inject weekly in the comfort of their own home.
What is the difference between these medications?
Tirzepatide has only 10% of its users that experience nausea in the first few doses where Semaglutide has about 44%. Tirzepatide also helps patients loose up to 21% of their total body weight whereas semaglutide is around 15% of total body weight. Tirzepatide is a bit more expensive when compared to semaglutide but many of our patients prefer it due to hardly any nausea and more weight loss.
Our program is designed to loose 1-2lbs a week. It is not designed for those looking to loose a quick 10lbs in one month.
Cost is dependent upon dosage
Patients are required to have a BMI of at least 27 to qualify for medical weight management. At your first visit we discuss goals, expectations and review your most recent lab work from your primary care physician ( so be sure to bring that with you!) If you or any blood related relatives have a history of thyroid medullary cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 you cannot use these medications. Please report to your provider any history of pancreatitis as this may affect your treatment.
